Botanical source: Tanacetum annuum
Plant part used: The herb
Production: Sustainably wild harvested, certified organic
Extraction method: Steam distillation of the fresh flowering tops in August and September
Note: This oils gets its name from its deep cobalt blue color, not from its flowers – which are yellow, not blue.
Caution: Blue tansy oil is commonly adulterated with other oils such as Yarrow, White mugwort and Moroccan wild camomile.
Fragrance profile: Deeply saturated fruity-sweet and apple-green notes, laced with an whiff of fresh spicyness. Similar to German camomile but sweeter, fruitier and less 'maltey' or 'seaweedy.'

I have been using Blue tansy for redness or rashes or itching, and it works great; the itching stops right away, and after one or two application the rashes are gone as well. It is a great essential oil to have.

Great for calming but not as strong smelling as I thought it would be.
