Other anti-inflammatory constituents that Blue tansy contains include curcumene, terpinen-4-ol and borneol. Its 3-12% camphor content ensures an equally good analgesic action.

Complementary blending: Yarrow, German camomile, Roman camomile, Helichrysum, Rosewood, Geranium, Palmarosa, Bergamot, Green mandarin.

In Chinese Medicine: A cooling, sweet-green oil, Blue Tansy is used to circulate the Qi and calm the Shen. The focus of this systemic relaxant is constrained Qi agitating the Heart Shen, while at the same time supporting Heart Yin. Blue Tansy sits at about the same strength as Lavender, but with more emphasis on nourishing Heart Yin. Mild inhalation reinforces its calming effect on the Shen and is often used alongside point treatment.

Chinese Medicine functions adapted from Peter Holmes, L.Ac., M.H., Channeling Fragrance. The full profile — treatment patterns, acupoint combinations and synergist oils — is in the book.
