Using essential oils safely
We encourage you to use essential oils safely while enjoying their many benefits at the same time. Please take a moment to read these important guidelines for their safe use.
Always dilute before applying to skin
To prevent possible skin irritation or sensitization, always use essential oils and blends in dilution. They should always be diluted in a vegetable carrier oil before applying to the skin – never use essential oils or blends undiluted on the skin. For suggested dilution ratios and carriers, please go to How Essential Oils Are Used.
Avoid eyes and mucous membranes
Avoid oils or blends ever contacting the eyes and mucous membranes, including in the mouth. Discontinue use immediately if any irritation occurs.
Never take essential oils internally
Never take single or blended essential oils internally. If you do so, it is at your own risk.
Check with your practitioner first
Check with your healthcare practitioner about using single or blended essential oils during pregnancy, postpartum, and when medical conditions are present, such as the continuous use of certain medications, hypertension, migraine headaches and epilepsy.
Keep out of reach of children
Always keep the bottles out of reach of infants and children.
