Pharmacology: Black spruce is dominated by stimulant and restorative monoterpenes (<55%) that are balanced by relaxant esters (<52%) and sesquiterpenes. Anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic constituents such as camphene and bornyl acetate are noted.

In Chinese Medicine: A premier woody-pungent restorative Yang tonic, Black Spruce addresses weakness that allows damp to accumulate in the Lower and Upper Jiao. It promotes healthy Qi flow between the Kidney and the Lung while tonifying both — and does so without generating heat or stagnation.

Chinese Medicine functions adapted from Peter Holmes, L.Ac., M.H., Channeling Fragrance. The full profile — treatment patterns, acupoint combinations and synergist oils — is in the book.

Black Spruce essential oil

This is the best quality Black Spruce oil I've ever used. I use it in my practice and my home. I use it as a therapeutic massage oil (diluted)
for lower respiratory congestion and so many other things. I love it as a home air freshener. It smells like the spruce forests in Canada.
