In Chinese Medicine: Spike Lavender (Lavandula latifolia) sits with the fresh-pungent oils that tonify the Qi and raise Yang Qi — a different group from true Lavender, which is a sweet-green Qi circulator. The distinction matters: despite the shared common name, the two are used for opposite ends of the tone spectrum, spike being warming and vitalizing where true Lavender is cooling and relaxant.

I tried the various lavenders and love all of them. My husband however especially loves this spike lavender. He now has his own bottle and he uses it regularly.
This Lavender is both calming and stimulating at the same time. Great for stress. I love the smell, lavender-like but not overpowering.
