January '12
We wish all our friends and clients the very Best for the New Year. The new year is such a potent time of renewal and re-envisioning. My vision and intention both personally and for Snow Lotus is one of ever increasing integration and awakeness. I'm speaking about the quality of awakeness that only arises through our volitional intention to be here, present with the good and the bad, and be committed to bringing profoundly positive change into the world in and through our own intentions and actions.
I find myself in awe at how these precious essential oils from all over the planet can be our allies in our striving to create greater balance, awakeness and presence both in ourselves and in the world, and to take on the challenges of living a purposeful life!
In terms of education, we are now excited to be offering the Essential Oil Medicine Course
again in Seattle in a newer format. If you are interested but not sure
about the four-weekend commitment to this course of study, you always
have the option of taking the first weekend on March 24 and 25 as a
stand-alone seminar.
In terms of new products, we are pleased to announce the missing piece in our Woman's Precious line of essential oil blends for use in Chinese Medicine: the Tonify Yin & Blood blend. This is a deeply Yin nourishing formula that includes Geranium (for Blood and Yin), Atlas cedarwood (for the Kidney), Patchouli absolute (for pulling energy down), Ylang ylang (to relax constrained Qi) and several other ingredients.
Following our reformulation of two Five-Element blends last year, we are now introducing the revamped Sedate Metal blend which now works more efficiently at balancing this syndrome.

We've been silent but not idle! In fact we've been working hard all summer at developing some therapeutic products, and seeking to introduce some lesser-known but unduly overlooked essential oils! So proudly but excitedly announcing seven new items (drum roll ...):
• Saro essential oil: A little-known oil from North Madagascar, we anticipate this one to become a favorite before very long. Why? Because it has such an amazing aroma, that's why! Fresh yet sweet, uplifting yet balancing as well, with a slew of treatment properties to boot.
• Spike lavender essential oil: A special oil from Spain that's very different from the other three lavenders we carry. This one is a fresh-pungent oil that's actually invigorating and warming. It has many other useful properties besides.
• Thyme thymol essential oil: An important germ busting oil from France
• Musk seed essential oil: Also known as Ambrette seed, this special oil is extracted from the Egyptian musk seed. It is the closest thing in the vegetable kingdom to the original musk extracted from a gland of the Asian musk deer. Musk seed is possibly the ultimate aphrodisiac when inhaled and should be used only in very small amounts — we advise caution!
• Spirit Mountain: A delightful woodsy-floral blend that's both relaxing and uplifting at the same time. Yes, you've guessed it: there's an esoteric meaning behind the name as well ...
• Ear Liniment: An effective liniment in a vegetable oil base for treating ear conditions, e.g. in children, as well as for ear discomfort and other anomalies in general. For external application around the ear only.
• Muscle Liniment: A liniment in a lotion base for soothing and relaxing sore, tired or painful muscles, whether from sports, travel or anything else. Contains six essential oils, six herbal extracts, MSM and many other special extracts.
All these are off 10% from now through the end of September launch.

We chose this particular seminar for Portland to complement the more general one given last December. Those of you who have taken the basic seminar on using oils in Chinese Medicine will be able to build on the knowledge and (hopefully!) practice already gained, while those of you just wishing to focus on the energetic treatment of mental and emotional conditions using essential oils will find in this seminar a comprehensive array of source materials that will inspire and enrich you for a long time to come. We're very excited to announce two new products that are now ready for shipping, and that have been in development for an awfully long time but we think will have been well worth the wait:
These are serums to be applied vaginally that were specially developed in clinical practice by Rachel Koenig L.Ac. C.H. Through many years of experimentation and treatment application, these vaginal serums have shown to be extremely useful for such conditions as vaginal itching, discomfort, dryness and thinning. They can also heal many kinds of trauma of the reproductive organs, including functional trauma caused by emotional shock or trauma. They are formulated with our organic Bulgarian Rose oil, which is the main and active ingredient — and they smell divine!

In the last nine months we've introduced a variety of different single oils, blends and other items. Here finally is a summary of all these:

Bulgarian Rose Hydrosol — The rosiest Rosewater ever and the best in the whole of Bulgaria! We’ve never come across anything like it.
• Cacao Absolute — We are now offering this special absolute in a 5ml size bottle; it's simply scrumptious. It smells better than hot cocoa and makes you want to drink it! A very high-quality extraction, this is.

Lavender, Dalmatia — A unique type of Lavender wild-harvested and distilled in coastal Croatia in
the Mediterranean. It has a fresh, invigorating and balancing effect
that’s different from the normal, calming Lavenders, and a very full-bodied fragrance. Basically it regulates the Qi without calming the mind, which is how the other Lavenders act.
• Holy Basil — We’re proud to finally be able to offer this special, sought after type of Basil from India, which is also known as Tulsi. A traditional highly-esteemed and much researched oil with deep tonic and adaptogenic properties.
• Digest Ease — A comprehensive formula for acute digestive problems. Tried and tested to work well. Just apply a few drops to the upper abdomen (the CV-12 area) and inhale deeply . . .
