Peter Holmes, L.Ac., M.H
|
Peter
is a medical herbalist, clinical aromatherapist and practitioner of
Oriental medicine. He originally apprenticed for two years with
Cantonese herbalist Dr. Lee in London, England, graduated from the
College of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture (U.K.) in 1980. He went on to
study with Ted Kaptchuk, O.M.D., and completed postgraduate studies in
Chinese medicine at the Ecole Européene d'Acupuncture in Paris, France.
Peter then completed a Western herbal medicine training at the College
of Consultant Herbalists in England.

Peter
also apprenticed in London for two years with medical herbalist
Christopher Hedley, MNIMH, and with pharmacist-herbalist Henri Verdier
in Paris, France, who trained him in the clinical uses of essential
oils.
Peter
researches, writes and lectures extensively in the field of herbal and
essential oil medicine, bringing to his programs over 25 years of study,
clinical practice and teaching experience. In addition to directing
Snow Lotus Seminars, Peter is a part-time faculty member at the
Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Peter is author of three acclaimed herbal medicine textbooks:
The Energetics of Western Herbs: Treatment Strategies Integrating Western & Oriental Herbal Medicine
Jade Remedies: A Chinese Herbal Reference for the West;
The T.C.M. Materia Medica Clinical Reference & Study Guide.
He is also the author of Clinical Aromatherapy: Essential Oil Profiles, and coauthor of the forthcoming Principles and Practice of Aromatherapy (with Robert Tisserand, C. Hoffman et al.).
